Thank you for visiting my PE Web site; this is where I'll post weekly activities, news and notes. Always remember to be good listeners at home and stay active! As we head into the end of the month, we'll be introducing Jump Ropes. We'll be doing short and long ropes with a variety of activities. All of which will lead into the Jump Rope for Heart Unit & the Heart Adventure Course.
At the break, we wrapped up our annual rollerskating unit. What an awesome time! Earlier in the year we completed our Semi-Annual Physical Fitness Testing. Each year we do fitness testing. Pre-tests early in the year and post-tests at the end. These are not pass/fail tests and have absolutely nothing to do with any "grades". These fitness tests lets me know where your child stands in various categories compared to other children their age across the United States. Individual profile sheets and a breakdown of each fitness test/results were sent home. Feel free to contact Mr. Mansell if you have any questions.
As everyone is aware, we've been really into the sport of Sport Stacking with Speed Stacks. For the past 3 years, our students have been traveling to various tournaments in Peoria & Jacksonville. Ellington has also hosted 3 Tournaments at Baldwin & Wow, What an experience! The Tri-State Tournament is for eveveryone (beginner to experienced), and has has averaged 130 stackers. Our stackers are primarily from Illinois, but we also had stackers come from Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Canada. Jacksonville, Peoria and QND also host tournaments during the year. In February, Peoria will host another Tournament, while Jacksonville & QND's Tournaments will be in March & April.

What's Happening in PE Class This Week?

Believing in yourself, & feeling good about yourself are the keys to success.
Do you know any Veterans?
It doesn't have to be Veteran's Day to express your gratitude.
As Americans, we enjoy so many liberties that sometimes we take for granted.
With all of the conflicts happening around the world, including here in the U.S.; It's important we remember the ultimate sacrifice that some our service men and women are paying so we can enjoy the freedom that so many people around the world are neglected.
VETERAN'S DAY
"Striving to be the Best at something is important; but More Important is doing your best and feeling good about yourself!"
-Mr. Mansell
Keep striving to do your best!
Yesterday is the past and tomorrow is the future.
Today is a gift, That's why we call it the "present".
Remember your smile, it's to valuable to forget!
"The P.E. Man"
A Very Important Thing to Remember...
Make someone feel special and important; you'll win more than a friend.
Make someone sad and down, ...you'll lose more than a friend.
People will Always Forget what you said.
People will Always Forget what you did.
People will NEVER Forget how you made them feel.
Please share a compliment with someone today and everyday!
